A choir of youthful voices thanked him as he opened the lock to the bamboo cages. The children ran past him and disappeared into the woods, he hoped they made it back to their homes safely. Just then he noticed on small body still curled up in a ball toward the back of the pen.
“Hey,” Obito said bending down. “It’s okay … no one can will hurt you now. I’ve taken care of all the bad bird people … come on out.” Two large fear filled eyes looked back him as the tiny girl shrunk even further into the back of the cage. Obito held his hand out to her. “You need to go … it’s not safe for you. I bet your Mommy and Daddy miss you …” A soulful wail escaped the other and she buried her face into her dirty dress. Hotaru let out a warning squawk and Obito spun around swords ready for the Arakkoa caster that attacked him from behind. The bird man wasn’t alone, swearing Obito reached into the cave and picking the child up leapt from the lofty tree-top hut lightly to the ground below, with Hotaru hovering close behind. Activating the cheetah within he quickly out distanced his pursuers. After making sure he was safe he put the child down and knelt in front of her. “ Please don’t cry, I’ll keep you safe … you can trust me.” (WoW related Fan-Fic Characters, story not published yet) |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
